Charlie in Charge

Charlie was my pick of the hank and Missy litter in April of 2004. He was a big robust male and the spitting image of his father. I had wanted to keep a male from this litter as Hank was getting up there in age and I wanted to keep this line going. For his size Charlie was probably the gentlest pup in the litter, always content for an ear scratch or just to lay in your lap for a nap. As he grew it was apparent he was going to be a big dog and as it turned out he is. Charlie like his sisters went to K&L in the fall of 2004. Just like his sisters he took to the training well and progressed very rapidly. His trainer John said he possess one of the best noses he has seen on a dog, it is a good thing as Charlie covers the field like a rocket and needs that nose to help him find the birds. For all his size and speed Charlie is very easy to handle and responds well to his commands. Charlie was however a little slower to mature than the girls where but this is common among this breed. He really hit his stride at 4 years old and just continues to get better. He is very laid back around the house but hook up the trailer and grab a gun it is a whole different story, he gets his game face on quickly and is ready to go. Watch out for this black and white pointer in the fall of 2009 because we are coming.
